An experienced executive, investor, and advisor specializing in technology-driven companies across various sectors. He is the founder and managing director of Vencrest Partners, a seed-stage venture capital investment and advisory services firm. His investment focus includes companies applying technologies such as AI/ML, VR/AR, blockchain, advanced materials, infrastructure software, and robotics to address business and societal challenges for positive impact. He has been instrumental in scaling businesses through growth phases, leading complex financial transactions—including IPOs and M&A—and expanding companies into global markets. He has worked alongside industry titans, venture capitalists, and pioneering entrepreneurs, advising on high-stakes decisions that drive transformative success. His leadership has influenced major organizations, including SRI International, Applied Materials, Octel Communications, and venture-backed firms across deep tech, SaaS, and AI-driven enterprises. He has been on the faculty at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business for 10 years, teaching on venture capital, entrepreneurship, and innovation topics. He is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Union College as well as the President’s Cabinet at Cal Poly. He has also been a board member of public, private, and not-for-profit organizations, and has served on many board and advisory committees. He holds a BSEE and AB from Union College, and an MBA from Stanford University. He and his family are involved in several organizations providing character-building experiences and scholarship assistance for disadvantaged youth.
