About this Program

The FINCA Ventures Prize Competition supports rising African entrepreneurs leveraging innovative technology and disruptive business models to drive impact in low-income and underserved communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. Two categories: (1) Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems - strengthening agrifood value chains, and (2) Fintech for Financial Inclusion - innovative digital-first financial services. Companies in the agriculture category may also apply for technical assistance through the CLIC Connector programme. Finalists travel to San Francisco (cost-covered) to pitch to a panel of judges.

Benefits & What You Get

Up to USD 100,000 in grant awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd place per category), fully funded trip to San Francisco for pitch event and awards ceremony, exposure to investors and global mentoring networks.

Eligibility

At least one African founder, for-profit company, post-revenue, operational for no more than 5 years, active in Sub-Saharan Africa. Must be willing to travel to San Francisco (FINCA covers costs).
