Overview
IUCN Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) is procuring beekeeping equipment for a community livelihoods initiative in Uganda. The equipment will be distributed to community groups and trainers to support honey production as a sustainable livelihood diversification strategy linked to forest and biodiversity conservation. The 3-month contract is valued below USD 45,000 and includes equipment supply plus training where applicable.
Scope of Work
Supply of beekeeping equipment per the IUCN Statement of Requirements (hives, protective gear, smokers, honey extractors, processing equipment, tools). Delivery to designated locations in Uganda. Training of community group members and trainers on equipment use and best beekeeping practices. Provision of operating manuals (English and local languages where possible). Warranty for equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Supplier of beekeeping equipment with manufacturing or distribution capability. Capability to deliver to Uganda. IUCN Declaration of Undertaking. Completed RFQ template and Statement of Requirements compliance. Training capability is an advantage.
Evaluation Criteria
IUCN standard RFQ evaluation: mandatory documents and declaration, technical compliance with Statement of Requirements (line by line), financial comparison. Award to lowest priced compliant quotation.
