Overview
IUCN Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) is procuring energy saving cookstoves equipment for a community livelihoods and clean cooking initiative in Uganda. The equipment will be distributed to households in target communities to reduce wood fuel consumption, indoor air pollution and pressure on forest resources, while improving women time use and respiratory health. Energy saving cookstoves typically reduce wood consumption by 40-60% compared to traditional three-stone fires. The 3-month contract is valued below USD 45,000 and includes equipment supply plus training where applicable.
Scope of Work
Supply of energy saving cookstoves per the IUCN Statement of Requirements (efficient combustion design, durable materials, safety features). Supply of related accessories (pots, pans, fuel storage). Delivery to designated communities in Uganda. Training of community members on cookstove use, maintenance and safety. Provision of user manuals (English and local languages). Warranty for the cookstoves.
Requirements & Qualifications
Manufacturer or authorised distributor of energy saving cookstoves. Stoves should meet recognised efficiency and emissions standards (e.g. ISO 19867, Clean Cooking Alliance tiers). Capability to deliver to Uganda. IUCN Declaration of Undertaking. Compliance with the IUCN Statement of Requirements specifications.
Evaluation Criteria
IUCN standard RFQ evaluation: mandatory documents and declaration, technical compliance with Statement of Requirements (line by line, including efficiency tier), financial comparison. Award to lowest priced compliant quotation.
