Official Title

IUCN PACO - Local Organisation IPLC Support DRC (COLOURS)

Overview

IUCN Central and West Africa Regional Office (PACO) is recruiting a local organisation in the Democratic Republic of Congo to support indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLC) under the COLOURS programme. The selected organisation will work directly with IPLC communities in target landscapes in DRC over an 18-month period, facilitating community engagement, capacity building, participatory mapping and inclusion in conservation governance. The contract value is between CHF 50,000 and CHF 100,000. Congolese civil society organisations with demonstrated IPLC track record, particularly in forest landscapes, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Scope of Work

Engage target IPLC communities in DRC to identify priorities and concerns. Facilitate community dialogues, training and capacity-building activities. Support participatory mapping of customary lands and resources. Document community perspectives. Facilitate IPLC engagement with national conservation authorities. Submit narrative and financial reports. Coordinate with IUCN PACO DRC team and the COLOURS programme.

Requirements & Qualifications

Local organisation legally registered in DRC. Demonstrated track record working with indigenous peoples and local communities in DRC. Existing community relationships in target landscapes. Multilingual team (French essential, Lingala/Swahili an advantage). Sound financial management capacity. IUCN Declaration of Undertaking. Compliance with IUCN safeguarding policies.

Evaluation Criteria

IUCN standard organisational evaluation: mandatory compliance, technical evaluation, financial evaluation. Combined scoring; award to highest combined score within budget.
