Tender for Labor and Transport Contractors for the Year 2026-2029

The Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), the Kenyan state corporation responsible for rural electrification and renewable energy development, is procuring labor and transport contractors for the years 2026-2029. REREC implements rural electrification through extension of the national grid, mini-grids and off-grid solutions, requiring substantial labor and transport support across all 47 counties of Kenya. The contract is a multi-year framework awarded by region or lot.

Provision of skilled and unskilled labor for REREC field operations including pole erection, line stringing, transformer installation, ground works and related electrification activities. Provision of transport services for materials, equipment and personnel. Compliance with REREC safety standards. Reporting to REREC project supervisors. Quarterly performance reviews.

Legally registered Kenyan contractor with experience in electrification or comparable infrastructure projects. NCA registration at the appropriate category. Compliance with statutory and tax requirements. AGPO certificate strongly encouraged. Bid security per the tender document. Trained workforce and transport fleet capacity.

REREC standard evaluation: mandatory compliance, technical evaluation (track record, team, equipment, safety record), financial evaluation. Multi-region or lot-based award.
