Overview
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through its flagship Timbuktoo initiative, is opening applications from African AgriTech startups for the Pan-African AgriTech Incubation Programme 2026. Timbuktoo is UNDP key platform to build Africa startup scene, with the ambition to support 10,000 startups and create USD 10 billion in value over the long term. The AgriTech track focuses on startups using technology to improve agriculture and food systems in Africa, addressing climate change, weak markets, supply chain inefficiencies and farmer livelihoods. Selected startups receive incubation, expert mentorship, pan-African networks, digital platforms (SIGMA), investor training, and funding opportunities. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with a final deadline of 27 April 2026.
Scope of Work
Selected startups join a structured incubation programme delivered through top African incubators in the Timbuktoo network. Programme includes business model development, market validation, climate-smart practice integration, supply chain improvement, investor pitch training and demo days. Access to the SIGMA platform for AI tools, mentor matching, tracking and resources. Connection to investors, hubs, founders and partners across Africa. Demo day participation. Post-programme alumni network access.
