AIICO Insurance PLC is one of Nigeria's largest composite insurance companies, listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX: AIICO) and offering life, general, and health insurance, pensions, and asset management services. The company was founded in 1963 as American International Insurance Company, a subsidiary of AIG (American International Group), and was Nigerianised in 1970 following the indigenisation decree. AIICO is the market leader in Nigerian life insurance and has been consistently profitable for decades. The company's headquarters is at AIICO Plaza on Ikoyi, Lagos.
