About BUA Foods PLC
BUA Foods PLC is a leading Nigerian food and agro-allied company listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX: BUAFOODS) since December 2021, formed by the consolidation of BUA Group's sugar, edible oils, rice, flour, and pasta milling businesses. The company is the second-largest sugar refiner in Nigeria (operating the second-largest sugar refinery in sub-Saharan Africa, commissioned in 2008, which broke an eight-year monopoly held by Dangote Sugar at the time), and owns BUA Oil Mills Limited (formerly Nigerian Oil Mills Limited, acquired in 2001 as the largest edible oil processing company in Nigeria). BUA Foods also operates the BUA Rice and BUA Pasta brands, plus a 40-metric-tonne-per-hour animal feed mill. Abdul Samad Rabiu owns 95% of BUA Foods PLC. In September 2025, BUA Foods' market value surpassed that of BUA Cement and neared that of Dangote Cement, reflecting investor confidence in BUA's foods strategy.
