Dangote Sugar Refinery PLC

Dangote Sugar Refinery PLC is one of the largest sugar refiners in sub-Saharan Africa and a subsidiary of Dangote Industries Limited. Listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX: DANGSUGAR), the company began local sugar production in 1999 and operates a major refinery in Apapa, Lagos, which is one of the largest sugar refineries in the world. The company supplies refined sugar to Nigerian food and beverage manufacturers, household consumers, and industrial customers, competing primarily with BUA Foods and Golden Sugar Company. Dangote Sugar is engaged in backward integration through its sugar plantations in Nasarawa, Taraba, and Adamawa States under the Nigerian Sugar Master Plan.
