Guaranty Trust Holding Company PLC (GTCO), formerly Guaranty Trust Bank PLC (GTBank), is a leading Nigerian multinational financial services group listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX: GTCO) and the London Stock Exchange. The bank was founded in 1990 by Tayo Aderinokun (1955-2011) and Fola Adeola, and commenced operations in February 1991. GTBank has long been recognised as one of Nigeria's best-run banks, consistently receiving top corporate governance and quality-of-service awards across Africa. In August 2021, GTBank restructured into a holding company, GTCO, to diversify beyond banking into asset management, pension fund administration, and payments.
