Krofrom Ashanti Goldsmiths

Krofrom is a community in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana, known as the traditional centre for Ashanti goldsmithing and jewellery making. Krofrom goldsmiths produce traditional Ashanti gold jewellery including bracelets, necklaces, rings, and ceremonial regalia for Ashanti chiefs, the Asantehene (King of Ashanti), and individual customers across Ghana and the African diaspora. The tradition dates back centuries to the Ashanti Empire, when gold was a central element of Ashanti economic and cultural power.
