Kumasi Foundry and Casters

Kumasi Foundry and Casters represents the iron casting and foundry operations within and around Suame Magazine, Kumasi, where artisans use small-scale melting furnaces to recycle cast iron scraps into new components for the vehicle repair, agricultural implements, and construction markets. The foundry tradition was strengthened by the ITTU programme which introduced iron melting technology to Suame artisans in the 1980s.
