Indigenous Ghanaian cocoa processing
About Niche Cocoa Company
Niche Cocoa Company Limited is a Ghanaian indigenous cocoa processing company founded in 2007 by Edmund Poku, following his MBA at Columbia Business School. Based at the Tema Free Zones enclave in Ghana's industrial city of Tema, Niche Cocoa processes premium Ghanaian cocoa beans into semi-finished cocoa products (cocoa liquor, cocoa butter, cocoa cake, cocoa powder) for export to international confectionery and food manufacturers. Niche Cocoa is one of only two local value-added cocoa processing businesses in Ghana (the world's second-largest cocoa producer), and was awarded Exporter of the Year 2015 at the Ghanaian President's National Awards for Export Achievement. Edmund Poku raised $4 million of his initial $12 million capital target through his trust bank and equity.
