Suame Machine Tools Cooperative

Suame Machine Tools Cooperative is an association of Suame Magazine-based artisans and workshop owners who operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other machine tools to produce bolts, nuts, gears, shafts, bushings, and engine components for the Ghanaian automotive repair and light manufacturing industries. Members learned their craft through apprenticeships originating in the ITTU technology transfer programme of the 1980s, and many operate equipment originally transferred from the KNUST ITTU.
