MNT-Halan is Egypts first fintech unicorn and Africas largest fintech lender by loan book. The company has lent over USD 12 billion since inception, with a current Egypt loan book exceeding USD 700 million and a group loan book of USD 1.3 billion across Egypt, Turkey, UAE, and Pakistan. 54% of MNT-Halan loans go to women and 41% to people under 35. In 2024 alone, the company lent over USD 2.2 billion. The company secured a USD 157.5 million syndicate from IFC, Development Partners International, Lorax Capital, Apis Partners, Lunate, and GB Corp in July 2024. Most recent corporate bond issuance received an investment grade BBB+ rating, exceptional for an African fintech.
