About Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (CEDP)

The Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (CEDP) is a Ugandan government initiative aimed at improving the competitiveness of enterprises by implementing reforms in priority productive and service sectors. The project focuses on enhancing the business environment, reducing the cost of doing business, and boosting the competitiveness of selected high-impact sectors. CEDP is coordinated by the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) and involves various government ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Lands, Ministry of Tourism, Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (HTTI), and Uganda Tourism Board (UTB). The project has been instrumental in supporting reforms that have led to improved land administration, streamlined business licensing and registration processes, and the development of attractive tourism products, thereby fostering private sector growth and contributing to economic development in Uganda.
