Startup Funding Vehicles (SFV)

Startup Funding Vehicles (SFV) is an initiative that mobilizes local angel investors to fund Ugandan startups. It serves as a collaborative platform bringing together individuals, industry, academia, and government to unlock capital for innovation, job creation, and economic growth. SFV is championed by TechBuzz Hub, a Ugandan innovation hub, and partners with organizations like the Uganda Management Institute (UMI), the African Federation of Business Angels Network (AFBAN), and Makerere University to empower, promote, and strengthen local investors in Uganda’s startup ecosystem. The initiative addresses the challenge of limited local investment by educating and connecting local investors with entrepreneurs through bi-monthly Investor Knowledge and Learning webinars. SFV also seeks to empower entrepreneurs and investors through educational webinars, innovative financing mechanisms, and networking for a sustainable investor ecosystem.
