About Uganda Investment Authority
Established in 1991, the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) is a government agency responsible for promoting and facilitating investment in Uganda. Its mission is to enhance economic growth by attracting both foreign and domestic investments, providing serviced land, and advocating for a competitive business environment. UIA offers various incentives, including tax waivers and investment licenses, to encourage investment across multiple sectors. The agency also supports female entrepreneurs through dedicated programs and initiatives aimed at fostering gender-inclusive economic development. The agency operates under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and collaborates with other government bodies and the private sector to drive economic growth and development in Uganda.
