Consultancy Services to Explore AI Applications for PANORAMA - Solutions for a Healthy Planet

IUCN HQ is contracting a consultancy to explore the potential utility of artificial intelligence for the PANORAMA Solutions for a Healthy Planet platform. PANORAMA is a global knowledge platform managed by IUCN and partners that documents and shares replicable solutions to environmental and development challenges, with thousands of case studies. The consultancy will assess where AI tools (LLMs, embeddings, classification, semantic search, summarisation, recommendation) could add value, identify priority use cases, and recommend an implementation roadmap.

Inception meeting and review of the PANORAMA platform, content corpus and user journeys. Stakeholder consultations. Landscape review of AI tools and approaches relevant to knowledge platforms. Definition and prioritisation of AI use cases. Technical and ethical assessment. Draft and final report including recommended roadmap, indicative budgets, risks and mitigations. Final presentation to PANORAMA partners.

Consultancy or individual with demonstrated expertise in applied AI/ML, particularly NLP, semantic search, recommendation systems and LLM applications. Experience with knowledge platforms or digital libraries. Understanding of conservation or development sectors an advantage. Strong written and spoken English. IUCN Declaration of Undertaking.
