About Globacom Limited
Globacom Limited (Glo) is Nigeria's second-largest telecommunications operator and one of the largest indigenous African-owned telecoms companies, founded in 2003 by Nigerian billionaire businessman Dr Mike Adenuga Jr GCON. Headquartered in Lagos, Glo is a pan-African mobile network operator with licenses and operations in Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin, serving over 60 million subscribers. The company is best known for pioneering pricing innovations in Nigerian telecoms including per-second billing (which disrupted the market's per-minute billing norm at launch), and for landing the Glo-1 submarine cable from the UK to Nigeria in 2010 (Nigeria's first indigenously-owned international submarine cable system). Mike Adenuga is also the founder of Conoil Producing, one of Nigeria's largest indigenous oil producers, and is consistently ranked among Africa's wealthiest individuals.
