Sahara Group Limited is a leading Nigerian energy and infrastructure conglomerate, founded in 1996 by co-founders Tope Shonubi, Tonye Cole, and Kola Aluko (later departed). The group's core operations include upstream oil and gas exploration, downstream petroleum products marketing (Sahara Energy), power generation (Egbin Power Plant - Nigeria's largest thermal power station with 1,320 MW capacity, acquired via Sahara-led KEPCO consortium in 2013), LPG distribution, and infrastructure. Sahara Group operates across over 38 countries in Africa, Europe, Middle East, and Asia and is one of the most geographically diverse Nigerian private-sector groups.
