Description
In November 2025, the African Development Bank approved a USD 310 million financial package for FirstRand Bank in South Africa to scale lending to MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, and agribusinesses. The package consists of three components: a USD 200 million MSME line of credit, a USD 100 million facility ring-fenced for women-led businesses, and a USD 10 million African Climate-Smart Agrifood Mechanism (ACFM) component. This is one of the largest single AfDB SME-focused commitments to a South African commercial bank.
