Description

The African Guarantee Fund (AGF) is a non-bank financial institution providing partial loan portfolio guarantees, typically covering 50% of risk, to financial institutions across Africa. AGF holds an AA- rating from Fitch. Major partnerships include the AGF-Equity Bank USD 1 billion guarantee facility and the AGF-Ecobank USD 200 million facility. Through its role as implementing partner for the AfDB AFAWA Guarantee for Growth programme, AGF has unlocked approximately USD 1 billion in financing for over 14,000 women-owned businesses. AGF also supports green finance, agribusiness, and youth entrepreneurship via dedicated guarantee windows.
