Dan Martell is a Canadian entrepreneur, author, and angel investor who has founded and scaled multiple technology companies. He is the founder of Spheric Technologies, Flowtown, and Clarity.fm, each of which achieved significant growth and successful exits. In 2012, he was named Canadian Angel of the Year by the Canadian Startup Awards. Martell has invested in over 60 companies, including Intercom, Udemy, Hootsuite, Unbounce, and Getaround. He has also worked with accelerators such as 500 Startups and the C100. In 2016, Martell founded SaaS Academy, a coaching organization for B2B SaaS founders. He later established High Speed Ventures, Martell Ventures, and Martell Media, which focus on SaaS business investment and digital content. Martell Ventures is an AI-first venture studio that co-founds new AI-driven software companies with experienced operators, providing them with resources, playbooks, infrastructure, and capital from day one. The studio aims to build AI-native companies that replace traditional SaaS models. Martell is also an author, having written 'Buy Back Your Time,' which debuted at number two on The Wall Street Journal nonfiction bestseller list. In 2024, he co-authored 'Software as a Science,' published by SaaS Academy Press. He is active in philanthropy, having donated C$50,000 to BGC Okanagan to support programs addressing youth homelessness in British Columbia and launched Kings Club, a mentorship program for high school students in Kelowna. Martell resides in Kelowna, British Columbia, with his wife, Renée Warren, and their two children.
