Eco-fuel Africa Ltd is a Ugandan social enterprise founded by Sanga Moses, dedicated to converting locally sourced agricultural waste into clean cooking fuel and organic fertilizers. The company operates in Uganda, providing clean cooking solutions to approximately twenty thousand families and employing 120 people. Eco-fuel Africa Ltd leverages simple yet innovative technologies and inclusive business models to address environmental and social challenges, including deforestation, indoor air pollution, and unemployment. By converting biomass waste into green charcoal and biochar, the company not only offers sustainable cooking solutions but also contributes to soil fertility and carbon sequestration. The enterprise has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the 'Project of the Year 2015' award at the annual Knowledge Exchange Forum sponsored by the Energy and Environment Partnership Programme of Southern and East Africa. This accolade highlights the company's impactful work in promoting clean energy and sustainable development in Uganda.
