CIC Insurance Group PLC is a Kenyan insurance and financial services group listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE: CIC), operating through life, general, health, and asset management subsidiaries across Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and Malawi. Established in 1968 as the Co-operative Insurance Services (CIS) to serve the Kenyan co-operative movement, CIC is majority-owned by the Co-operative movement in Kenya, with a shareholder base that includes thousands of SACCOs (Savings and Credit Co-operatives). CIC has historically been one of the top three insurers in Kenya by market share.
