Kenya Wine Agencies Limited

Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) is Kenya's oldest wine, spirits, and ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage producer and distributor, established in 1969 as a state-owned joint venture. KWAL produces and distributes branded products including Kingfisher wines, Caprice wines, Glenfiddich (distribution), Hunter's Choice whisky, Kibao vodka, Viceroy brandy, and Smirnoff (distribution), among others. The company was partially privatised in 2014 when South Africa's Distell Group acquired 26% (later expanded), and is now part of Heineken Beverages following Heineken's 2023 acquisition of Distell. KWAL's Athi River plant is one of East Africa's largest beverage production facilities.
