Comcraft Group (and its steel subsidiary Safal Group) is one of East Africa's largest family-owned industrial conglomerates, founded by Dr Manu Chandaria OBE EBS (the legendary Kenyan-Indian industrialist, born 1929) and the Chandaria family. Starting with a small Kenyan hardware business in the early 20th century, the group has grown into a multinational industrial empire with operations in over 40 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe, and interests spanning steel (Mabati Rolling Mills, Kaluworks), aluminium, plastics, food processing, insurance (APA Insurance), and more. Safal Group, the steel arm, is the largest manufacturer of steel roofing and building products in sub-Saharan Africa with over 30 plants across 14 countries. Dr Manu Chandaria is one of Kenya's most celebrated business leaders and philanthropists and holds multiple honours including Knight of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS).
