Kenafric Industries Limited is East Africa's largest confectionery manufacturer, producing chewing gum, bubble gum, lollipops, hard-boiled candies, toffees, biscuits, beverages, culinary products (Oyo Mchuzi Mix), footwear, and stationery. Founded in 1987 by the Chedda family (Velji Punja Shah and his four sons Bharat, Nilesh, Mikul, and Mayur Shah), the company is headquartered at Baba Dogo in Nairobi. Flagship brands include Fresh chewing gum, Bing Bang, Veve, Lotta, Squeezy, and Oyo. Kenafric employs approximately 1,500 direct and 7,500 indirect workers. Annual turnover is approximately KSh 10 billion. In 2017 French investor Amethis and South African Metier Private Equity acquired a 40% stake in the packaged foods business. In 2022 Kenafric partnered with India's Britannia Industries to acquire Britannia Kenya; in 2025 it acquired the stationery business of Economic Industries. The company operates in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, DRC, Rwanda, and Malawi.
