AfDB Africa SME Programme

The African Development Bank Africa SME Programme provides lines of credit to African financial institutions for on-lending to small and medium-sized enterprises across the continent. Loan sizes range from USD 1 million to USD 10 million with tenors of 4 to 7 years. The programme requires a maximum 50% borrower equity contribution and operates through partner banks and DFIs in over 30 African countries. The facility is part of AfDBs broader strategy to address the African SME credit gap estimated at over USD 330 billion.
