Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC is a leading end-to-end financial services group in Nigeria, listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX: STANBIC) and a member of South Africa's Standard Bank Group (Africa's largest bank by assets). The group was formed in 2007 through the merger of Stanbic Bank Nigeria (the Nigerian subsidiary of Standard Bank Group) with IBTC Chartered Bank (Investment Banking and Trust Company, founded in 1989 by Atedo Peterside CON). The group operates across commercial banking, investment banking, asset management (Stanbic IBTC Asset Management, Nigeria's largest private pension fund administrator), insurance, and financial advisory services. Atedo Peterside (founder of IBTC) served as non-executive Chairman until 2017 and is a highly influential figure in Nigerian finance. Dr Demola Sogunle is Chief Executive.
