About NNPC Limited
NNPC Limited (Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited) is the national oil company of Nigeria, headquartered in Abuja. Established in 1977 as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the entity was converted into a limited liability company on 19 July 2022 under the Petroleum Industry Act 2021, becoming NNPC Limited. The company operates across the full petroleum value chain including upstream exploration and production (joint ventures with international oil companies on major Nigerian oil blocks), midstream (gas processing and pipeline transmission), and downstream (refining, petroleum products distribution, and retailing under the NNPC Retail brand). NNPC Limited is wholly-owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria, managed on behalf of shareholders by the Ministry of Petroleum Incorporated and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated. Mele Kyari served as Group Chief Executive Officer until April 2025, when he was succeeded by Bayo Ojulari.
