The firm is dedicated to supporting tech-enabled startups that address key challenges in the real estate sector, adhering to Sharia-compliant investment standards. Its investment focus spans the entire real estate lifecycle, including sectors such as smart cities, smart buildings, co-working and co-living solutions, climate technology, hospitality technology, real estate marketplaces, fintech, legal tech, analytics, shared economy, virtual and augmented reality, and blockchain applications. The fund has invested in startups in the MENA region as well as become the first to put Saudi Arabia on the VC map in Europe. Watheeq PropTech Venture has led funding for Holo Mortgage Consultants, Spaceti, Darent, Rize, Munjz, and recently signed a cooperation agreement within the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program alongside TRAI Investment Finance. At least 50% of the portfolio companies chosen by the fund operate in the KSA market as the firm considers PropTech to be the ultimate solution to fulfilling the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 through diversification of income and job creation. The fund is managed by a team of professionals with over a century of combined experience in real estate, technology, and investment, providing them with extensive knowledge and insight into the market.
