Dangote Cement PLC is a Nigerian multinational cement manufacturer headquartered in Lagos and listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX: DANGCEM), where it is the largest company by market capitalization (approximately 20% of the total NGX market cap at various times). Dangote Cement is Africa's leading cement producer with cement production lines and grinding stations operating across 10 African countries, and is the first Nigerian company to join the Forbes Global 2000 Companies list. The company was formerly known as Obajana Cement PLC (incorporated in 1992) and was renamed Dangote Cement PLC in July 2010, listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in October 2010 following the merger with Benue Cement Company. In 2014, the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) purchased a USD 300 million stake. The Obajana Cement Plant in Kogi State is the largest cement plant in Sub-Saharan Africa. In FY2024, the group achieved 27.7 million tonnes of sales volume (+1.6% YoY), revenue of NGN 3,580.6 billion (+62.2%), and Group EBITDA of NGN 1,382.0 billion (+25.6%). Total production capacity across Africa is 52.0 million tonnes per annum (Mta), with 32.25 Mta in Nigeria.
