Assess a tender or a funding call
The one AI tool on the free tier. It reads a notice and its documents, asks you what they cannot answer, and scores your chances.
Assess answers one question: is this one worth a fortnight of your time? You give it the address of a record on this platform, it reads the notice and whatever documents are attached to it, asks you the handful of things the documents cannot tell it, and comes back with a score out of 100 and a list of what you would have to fix before applying.
It is the only AI tool included on the free tier, and it is the only one with a real history of member use behind it.
What it reads
- The record you point it at: a tender, a funding call, a programme, a contract award, a company profile or an investor.
- The documents attached to that record, where this platform holds them.
- Your own answers to the questions it asks you before it runs.
- Nothing else. It has no web access, it does not search, and it does not read your other records.
What it will not say
- It will not state a requirement that is not in what it read. Every entry under "Fix these before you apply" must quote the notice word for word, and an entry whose quotation cannot be found in the source is deleted before you see it.
- It will not fill an empty list. A notice that states no conditions correctly produces no must fix items, rather than invented ones.
- It will not describe a document it could not read. It says the document has to be read, and names it.
- It will not flatter you. The instruction it runs under says a generous score you cannot act on is worse than a low one you can.
What it costs
- Included on the free tier and on Insider. No plan upgrade is needed.
- One AI request from your daily allowance. See the allowances.
- It can also be paid for out of an AI credit balance where your plan does not carry it. Because the free tier does carry it, this does not apply to you today.
- Answering its questions costs nothing. The screen says so: "Nothing has been spent yet. Asking you a question costs nothing." The spend happens when you press
Assess it.
Running it
- Open Assess a tender. You can also reach it from a band on any tender page.
- Paste the full address of the record into the box labelled "The address of the record or the document" and press
Read it and start. - Read the panel headed What was loaded. It names how many fields and which documents were actually read. If a document you expected is missing from that list, it was not read, and nothing later in the answer is based on it.
- Answer the questions under What we still need from you. Each is marked
NeededorOptional. These are the things the notice could not tell it about you. - Press
Assess it.
Reading the answer
| Part of the answer | How to read it |
|---|---|
| The score, out of 100, with a badge reading Strong fit, Possible fit or Weak fit | One number summarising the rest. Do not act on it alone; the value is in the lists underneath. |
| Fix these before you apply | The most useful section. Every item quotes the notice word for word and says which field or document the quotation came from. If an item has no quotation, it did not survive to your screen. |
| What is already in your favour | Strengths, each with what in the context supports it. |
| What is missing | Gaps, each with why it matters for this particular call. |
| What to do next | Actions, in the order to do them. |
The other door onto the same tool
Analyse a document is the same engine pointed at a document rather than at a notice. It is worth reading its page before you go looking for an upload button.
