Your company profile: claiming, correcting, removing

What a claim actually grants, what it does not, the limits on how often you may claim, and how to correct or remove what is published about you.

Company profiles in the directory are assembled from published sources, not submitted by the companies themselves. If your company is in there, somebody at your company can claim it.

Find your company, then open its profile.

  1. Find your company in the directory and open its profile.
  2. If it is open to claims, the profile carries a claim link. Follow it.
  3. Give your role at the company, between 2 and 255 characters.
  4. Give a work email address on the company's own domain if you have one.
  5. Write a statement of your connection to the company. It must be at least 40 characters and at most 2,000. A one word answer is refused.
  6. Submit. Watch it on Companies you claimed.

Correcting something that is wrong

You do not need a claim to report an error. Every record carries a Report an error link, which puts your report into the queue staff read. Use it for a wrong deadline, a wrong name, a wrong category or a wrong figure.

With an approved claim you get the same queue with more standing: you propose the change, and a person applies it.

What is published about you as a person

This platform also holds people records, derived from the documents that name them. If one of them is you, What we publish about you shows what is held and links to the two things you can do about it: propose corrections, or ask for the page to be taken down.

Removal is asked for on the person's own page, at the removal link on it. It is a request that a person reads, not a button that deletes.

Separately from your profile, you can list what your business offers in the marketplace. On the free tier the allowance panel explains the limit and the Write a listing button is absent rather than dead, which is the house pattern: a control you cannot use is not drawn.
